The Year 6 learners were grouped to complete Collaborative learning tasks in PE. They had to be able to flip the gymnastics mat without stepping off of it. Kevin, Willie, Henry & Rahi initially had 7 people in their group, which made the challenge even more challenging! With a little help, they were able to figure out that if three people stepped to the side, it would be possible to complete the task. It was very entertaining watching them work it out. All four boys were working together and having a great time all at once. Out of all the Year 6 and Year 4 learners, these boys were the only ones to figure out the trick to this challenge! Great collaborative thinking!

Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Collaboration was key to this activity and all four boys were able to show this skill. It was good to see them communicate with each other, but they might need to remember that calm and clear conversation is the best way to be successful (Participate and Contribute). All four boys showed curiosity when the task was introduced and they were very excited to give it a go. They remained engaged with it until they were finished.
As they were the only group to complete this challenge, Rahi, Henry, Willie and Kevin all showed they were capable of problem solving and finding a solution (Thinking).
