Maths - Party Planning

I was in a group with Rahi, Amin and Imran and we planned our  party together. We went for a normal party because we didn't want to waste alot of money, it was very hard for us to calculate how much money we spended and how much we had left but then we figured it out at the end.

iExperience Market Day Reflection

For the market day I am doing a backyard bowling activities for LH1, LH2 and LH4, in my group is Imran, Lim Hor, Joshua and Harry. We decided that it was 5 rounds for $2 and our layout for our pins was 10 pins but for the market day we are gonna get 30 pins so that we can have 3 stations up and running. We were planning on having 3 stations with 3 sizes Big, medium and small, we were gonna make the pins out of coke bottles and the sizes we needed was 2L, 600ml and 300ml but Ms Jensen had a better idea it was if they win and get loads of strikes then we add another row to make it even harder for them.

Collaboration Maths Aftermath

Today on Wednesday we did maths in the second block, in maths
we did a collaborative problem solving activity where we were
counting cogs. So we had to colour in one tooth of the cog and then find out which pair of cogs let the coloured tooth go into every "gap" on the other cog, so we were given a big sheet of paper and what we had to do on the paper was to explain how to determine which pairs will work and why.

Camp Reflection using 4Cs

Curious: Wondering on Monday which cabins I was going to sleep in, what activities we were going to do or how hard the activities are going to turn out and also what food the staff or educators were going to serve us for breakfast, morning tea, afternoon tea and dinner.

Connected: Focusing on the staff members so that I know what I have to do for the activities because I was unsure on what we had to do for the activities because I never heard about those activities before because I was judging it by observation.

Collaborative: Working together to arrange everyone in the right order for low ropes like birthday numbers and house numbers. I felt like I was collaborative when I was doing the high ropes because the belay team for the high ropes had to work together to make sure the person on the high ropes is stable and okay.

Capable: Believing in myself so that I could be confident in doing the high ropes and abseiling because when it was my turn I was scared and nervous because I was worried that something horrible is going to happen but then my group was cheering for me so I believed in myself and had confidents to do the activity.

What sport I would represent for NZ in the Rio Olympics

What?
If I could represent a sport in the Olympics and for NZ I would choose Trampolining because that is a sport that I am good at and inspired at.

Why?
It includes flipping and jumping which are words to describe me. It is also a sport that I usually do alot like Parkour/Freerunning but that is not part of the Olympic sports

My iExperience Complete...

In iExperience me and my partner Rohullah have made a project together which is a Wrapper Free Lunchbox. So me and rohullah have finished our challenge to make a Wrapper free lunchbox yesterday but today we just made it look fancy and cool so our one could be the best of them all. We used cardboard, paper and tape to make it so, its not the real one because it only a prototype which won't last that long only a couple of days because it will break to pieces because its made out cardboard which is weak, but although we finished our Wrapper Free Lunchbox prototype together.

The Beep Test Reflection

Today on Wednesday for P.E we did a activity where we had to run back and forth at 20 metres and test how long you could do it. when you start there's a male/female that says 1/1 or 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, /17, 1/8 and 1/9, they also say a loud sound of a beep to tell you that you have to start running and then when you run onto the other said of the 20 metres you wait until the beep sound starts again but if you didn't reach the other side when the beep sound starts then your out and you have to remember your time because if you don't you have to do it again tomorrow the whole running thing again, luckily I remember my time which was 5/5 I think.

Aotearoa Performance Preparation

In iExperience for week 8 we are doing a Maori performance cover to Aotearoa by Stan Walker, we had over a week to decide on what we were going to do for the performance, we also had over week to make rakou sticks and pois with a buddy, I decided to make a poi with Justin L. Justin L was the person who had to make the pois and I was the one to gather the material to make the item we needed for the preparation, we had to learn the song in Maori so that we can also sing too for the performance. Yesterday we had to pick our groups 1,2,3,4 or 5 I picked group 3 because there was a lot of guys and there was a percent chance that we going to do a dance routine for our part in the singing. We weren't going to do a dance routine so we did a kapa haka performance to Kapo Kapo Jump Jam (Matariki 2013) but I wasn't sure we were going to that dance routine because everyone wasn't focus or concentrated on learning the dance, so I think were just going to do something else for the performance.

Rainy Day Reflection

Today wasn't that bad but it was a rainy day for about the whole week so we had to play inside for 5 days but like I said it wasn't that bad, I felt sad because we had to stay in and play indoor games because indoor games are not that fun because we have to play games like snakes and ladders or last card and also the most annoying game ever!!! " SNAP" its so boring because all you do is stack a lot of cards until you find the same card as the card you have then you have to race to snatch the cards before the other player does, Me and Justin L made up a game called Connect 4 Knots and Crosses, the way you play is the same way you play connect 4 but you have to write it down on a whiteboard like knots and crosses then you have to race to get 4 crosses or knots so that you can win, me and Justin L have been having so much fun playing this game that some of the boys wanted to play too because they found it not boring.

The Buddha's Birthday (Fo Guang Shan Chinese Temple Visit)

On Friday the 20th LH1, LH2, LH3 and LH4 went to the Fo Guang Shan Chinese Temple because it was the Buddha's Birthday and also we were there to learn about the 4G and 3G. LH1 and LH3 took the same bus to go to the Chinese Temple and LH4 and LH2 went in a separate and different bus to get to the Chinese Temple, so we were the first ones there so we had to wait for 5 or 10 minutes for them to arrive then they finally arrived in a few minutes. So the first thing we did was the greeting from the Chinese helpers and also they introduced themself to us but we already knew them from last year because we visited them last year too but some of the new learners that just came to Ormiston Primary School this year didn't noticed them or knew them at all. The activities we did at the temple was the same activities from last year but the same thing the new learners didn't know what the activities were, the thing we learnt at the temple was loads of information that I couldn't remember because there loads but I knew some of the things we learnt, we learnt the lotus flowers and the Buddha's Life. At the end of the day we watched a video of  how the Buddha live throughout his life and what he accomplished, it showed a lot of stories and people and things that had happened to the Buddha in his life. At the end of the video the Chinese Helpers gave us a pendant of a brown small foot that had a spider on it, the Chinese helpers told us that the spider meant greatness. Then we had to go back to the school because we have finished our lesson at the temple, I had a fun day at the temple and I hoped there's more to learn about it.

Swimming Aftermath

Every Monday we go to the Otara Swimming Pools, so'we can develop our swimming so we don't drown when we are swimming in the pools or the beach when the tide and waves comes in very big. We took a small bus to go to the swimming pools, we were all put into 4 groups on what time the groups go to the swimming pools my group had to go at 12:30, so we hopped in the bus and took a 15 minute drive to the pools and arrived at the front of the building. Then we walked into the building and went into the changing rooms to get ready for swimming, then the instructors tested us at the floating starfish, freestyling and the rocket-ship swimming technique on how good we were at swimming then we were put into 3 groups of swimming, I was in group 3. Group 3 hopped into the big pools with the random guests, and the instructor tested us on freestyling and backstroke on how long and how many laps we could do in the big pool, sadly I only did 2 or 3 laps in the big pools, then after the instructor tested us in the big pool, he gave us a number, my number was 5. Then the other group from school came and it was their turn to hop in the pools and swim and we had to go back to our school. My next steps are to get better at swimming by going to the swimming pools in the weekends so I could develop my swimming better.

Reflection on this day

Today was a Tuesday so we did P.E and art because on a Tuesday and Friday we do P.E and Art. We were split into groups Italian and Mexico, I was in Italy so we got to go first to go play P.E. At P.E we were practicing our Non-Stop Cricket on Friday so we practicing our throwing, catching and batting by playing 4 games that involves throwing, catching and batting. To do these 4 activities we had to split into 4 groups, I went to a activity where we had to throw a ball at the cone, the next one was to throw the ball to the your partner and practice catching the ball and throwing the ball.

Reflection for Friday

Yesterday we did a iexperience task where we have to get a milk bottle and recycle it to make it useful and put your mind together and make something useful out of it, What I chose to do was make a jet-pack because I went to search up things you can make out of a milk bottle and I saw a picture of a jet-pack that was made out of milk bottles so I wanted to make that. I finished off my 5 senses narrative follow up, so basically it where you have to write a fiction story or a story about something and use the 5 sense hearing, touching, sight, taste and smell. I need to keep on learning on my maths because I am not getting anything yet well a little and I need to practice my writing because there some parts that I don't understand.

My Reflection about my week

What happened was we had to finish our identity grid, our identity is a piece of paper with 8 boxes where you have to draw or write things in them to describe yourself. I finished quick enough because I took it home and finished it through the weekends, I drawed it in the weekends and brought it to school and colored  it there because I didn't have spare time in the weekends to color it because I had to help my mom with other stuff. So what I got out of my learning was the Chinese new year activity cause we had to research then present what we learn on a slideshow, that wasn't challenging for me because it was something I was good at it. Now what I didn't get out of my learning was my maths problem cause we did a test and I was pretty sure I got a lot wrong because I am not really good at maths, I sat down looking at my paper didn't know what to do, I asked my friends if they could help me but they replied saying no its a test you have to do it by yourself and I felt sad because I didn't know what to do so my 3 steps are to study maths at home or asked my parents i they could help or ask a friend if they could help me.
